And we’re back with the Top 13 BEST Movies of the 1990s…in no particular order. The 1990s brought about chick music, Nirvana, and a slew of movies based on books, TV shows, and vivid imaginations. My “true” decade is the 1990s, since this is the decade I can really remember from growing up. Below are my favorite movies of the 1990s, all equally loved.
Top 13 BEST Movie of the 1990s
1. The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
What a powerful, beautifully made film. This is in the top of ALL movies I’ve watched. The description IMDb gives is “Two imprisoned men bond over a number of years, finding solace and eventual redemption through acts of common decency.” Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman give performances of a lifetime.
2. Dazed and Confused (1993)
Even though this movie was based in the 1970s, I was terrified this would be high school when I got there lol. Funny, drugs, good damn music…and a young, HAWT Matthew McConaughey.

Hilarious, fashion, and romance all tied up in this fun film.
